It’s almost Spring at O’Toole’s Herb Farm in Madison, Florida and we are preparing
for our annual gathering.

This date, February 3rd,  the first Saturday in February, was chosen from an ancient Celtic cross-over date between winter solstice and spring equinox which has been celebrated for thousands of years.  Days start to lengthen , renewal and rebirth are in the air.  A joyous time to be had by all.  This year's will be filled to the brim with educational and fun mini-workshops.  Four tracts of concurrent sessions will be going on all day long.  There is a great line-up of speakers this year including. Bob Hockmuth:IFAS, Rosie Koenig:Rosie's Organics, Keith Baxter:Kool Beanz Cafe, Norma Skaggs:Native Nurseries, Sylvia Dunnam:Florida Trail Association, Pam Myers O'Toole:One Eleven Grill, Cynthia Connolly:Ladybird Organics, Elizabeth Markovich:Integrative Healthcare, Traci Anderson:Seminole Springs Antique Rose and Herb Farm, Marge Powell:Magnolia Hill Soap Co., Catherine Mickler:Wellness By Design are a few of the speakers.  This is just the beginning, all new and pertinent topics.  There will be many vendors and lots of GOOD FOOD!  Some of the vendors will include Kurstz Dairy, Sweet Grass Dairy, Herbal Creations, Fraleigh Nursery, Judi Hammelburg's Fused and Stain Glass, Maggie's Herbs, and Golden Acres Farm will bring some of their Famous Tennessee Fainting goats.  The Sam Worly Band will be playing old timey instruments.  $5.00 per person entrance fee will allow you to attend any of the workshops all day.  No registration necessary.  It is going to be a great time!

Join us in the garden with delightful Janet Moses, Folk artist, who will inspire each of us to create our own painted herbal window.  All supplies, including windows, will be provided.  All you need to bring is your open mind and creative spirit.

Salves, Ointments & Lotions

Make your own topical treatments using essential oils.  The salves are wonderful for bites, wounds, and abrasions.  The lotions nourish the whole body.  Bring one 4 oz. jar and three 2 oz. jars with wide mouths.

Natural Perfumery

Learn to blend essential oils to create natural perfumes and improve fragrances for handcrafted soaps.  Essential oils carry the spirit of the plant that elicit personal responses.  You will blend natural perfumes and air fresheners.
