Circa 1955 * Sarasota

Within the right garage bay is Local
Coffee & Tea,
where proprietor Thierry
 Rouillard  will customize your organic
beverage just to your liking.  The
Brittany native also bakes his own
pastries, crepes suzette, and whole
- food diabetic-approved  treats.

Inside and out, the entire business
 is composed of recycled materials,
from the tables over the former car
lifts to the cedar shelves from the
 demolished Ringling Towers.

Local Coffee
& Tea

Back in the early 1950s, at the corner of the two-lane S. Tamiami Trail and Fiesta Drive, the "merry men from Texaco" would have come out to check
your oil and wipe your windshield.
Today, the Trail is 6 lanes wide, and
the Texaco sign is tucked away
inside, where you'll get an entirely different kind of friendly service.

In the left garage bay is a fully
equipped bicycle shop open
7 days a week for sales, repairs,
 and consignments.  Rouillard is
very skilled in that department
as well; he is a tri-athlete who
once biked 3,000 miles
 throughout Asia!

Come in and meet Thierry and treat yourself to a funky monkey smoothie
or a slice of raw organic chocolate pie.  Local Coffee & Tea is open weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sat. & Sun. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  "Sip locally."
