Students will each free-form a pattern/design on gourd.
After pencil-drawing on the design, they will use a wax resist
technique that
involves using a kitska and beeswax to “draw” over
their pencil design with melted wax, creating separate areas
with the wax. Next, the separate areas
are filled in with dye. The wax is then removed and the rim is
ready for decorating with various grasses and cords and
embellished with colorful beads. Each student will take home
their finished gourd. Bring a sack lunch. fee $35 Instructor
