species of herbs, succulents
and flowering perennials.

Advanced Soap Making   Saturday   3/20  and 6/19  and 9/25 Time 10-2
This is a class for those who have some knowledge of soap making and would like to advance their knowledge and technique. We will make a milk soap using a standard cold process of soap making. We will also make true liquid soap using potassium hydroxide and a hot process
 You need to bring safety glasses and gloves . All other  materials and lunch included  Fee $45 Instructor Marge Powell
 
Cooking with herbs   Saturday  4/24   and   8/7    and  10/16   Time 10-2
Do you wonder how to use the fresh herbs from your garden? Do you know how to use those herbal vinegars ? After this workshop you should have no doubt. We will make a lunch using fresh herbs & herbal vinegars and use techniques that make cooking with herbs fun and easy. This is a participative workshop and you will be on a team that does a portion of the cooking. Then we will sit down and enjoy the fruits of our labors and sip herb infused wines A sample menu is: Enhanced Chicken Broth, Gingered Carrot Bisque, Herb Bread Provence, Herbed butter Marinated Chicken with Greens
(tofu option) Grapefruit Basil Sorbet strawberries with herbed and habanera vinegar. Bring an apron and an appetite. All food, supplies and detailed

Not Just a Pretty Bottle –Herbal and other Vinegars  Saturday  11/6  Time 10-2
Most of us can make herbal vinegar but then we wonder how to use it. We will make a delicious lunch using herbal vinegars in many
 different ways. Then we will all make 2 bottles of vinegar so we can experiment at home. We will also experiment with making vinegars, some using fruit some using vinegar mothers.  Lunch included   Fee $45  Instructor Marge Powell
 
Gourd Creations   April 10  Saturday   Time 10-2
Students will each free-form a pattern/design on gourd. After pencil-drawing on the design, they will use a wax resist technique that
 involves using a kitska and beeswax to “draw” over their pencil design with melted wax, creating separate areas with the wax. Next, the separate areas
are filled in with dye. The wax is then removed and the rim is ready for decorating with various grasses and cords and
embellished with colorful beads. Each student will take home their finished gourd. Bring a sack lunch. fee $35 Instructor Mindy Hawkins
 
Healing Through Nature  Saturday June 26   Time  10-2
Join us for a fun and interactive class as we explore the many uses for medicinal herbs with Master Herbalist Cindy Willis. Learn to prepare your own tinctures and herbal teas. You'll not only walk out of the workshop with your own tincture and herbal tea blends, but with the knowledge you need to treat many common diseases and disorders using the healing properties 
of plants. Fee $40 All materials
provided. Bring a sack lunch.
