The historic Clewiston Inn Bed & Breakfast was built in 1938, and offers guests an opportunity to step back in time to a more leisurely pace. United States Sugar Corp originally built the Inn to host company executives and visiting dignitaries. It has since become a charming Historic Bed & Breakfast.

Birdanimate.gif (3835 bytes)Located in the heart of Sugar Cane Country,
on the shores of Lake Okeechobee, the Inn has a
reputation for southern hospitality.

Accommodations include 57 newly renovated guest rooms, including
suites, and efficiencies. The Lobby is warm and welcoming, with cypress
paneling, beamed ceilings and a wood burning fireplace.

The Colonial Dining Room offers excellent menu choices,
and is open for breakfast lunch and dinner, with an accent on
southern cooking.  The Everglades Lounge is the place to gather
for a congenial drink and conversation, with an impressive
360-degree mural depicting the Everglades scenery and wildlife.
The mural is a must-see item  during your visit.

The Inn has a rich historic legacy: President Hoover visited on two occasions, once while in office and again to dedicate the Hoover Dike which surrounded nearby Lake Okeechobee. During World War II British and American Air Force Cadets who were training nearby
met at the Inn to socialize, sing,
and play the piano.
