and people
in modern dress one would
wonder if they had slipped
through a time warp, into
the enchantment of a
previous century.

The merchants carry an array of antiques, gifts, and unusual

and a beautiful,
Bed & Breakfast.

Micanopy
"The little town that
time forgot"
A scenic, canopied
road winds
off the main highway into this
picturesque village that is
Florida's oldest inland town.

This Florida Secret rests
amid
the shade of tall, ancient oaks
with an eclectic selection of shops housed in restored storefronts.
It's Florida the way it used to be.

Old Florida Cafe
Micanopy is named for a
famous Seminole Indian Chief.
(pictured below). There is a
small history museum and
an old cemetery that traces
the areas past.

It's only a short
drive to Cross
Creek, and the historic homestead
of Pulitzer prize winning author
Marjorie Rawlings.
