Pleasantly lost in time, Arcadia
offers a pleasing escape from
the hustle bustle. Take a day
to canoe down the pristine
Peace River.
Afterward,
browse downtown with
its eateries, tea room,
ice creme parlor
and coffee bar.

The restored depot (right)
echoes Arcadia's railroading
past. Just beyond is the
stately county courthouse
(below) facing a large,
shady park.

What began as Tater
Hill Bluff
in the 19th century is now an
enchanting district of historic
buildings sprinkled with more
than 25 antique shops.

Owing to a fire that destroyed
most of the town in 1905 the
merchants of that era man-
dated that only masonry
structures would be built.
Their legacy remains today
with rich architecture that
is the hallmark of
downtown.

Come to this sleepy village and
find that special antique treasure
or just to unwind for a day or two.
Spend the night at the lovely
Historic Parker House B&B. Or,
taste the delicious barbeque
at Slim's, open since 1957.
