catfish from Lake Okeechobee and
other local specialties like soft shell
 turtle, frog legs and gator tail; all
 of which is open-range, (not farm
raised) to ensure the best taste.

The late Steve Johnson, who was
owner and founder passed away in
 2005. A Florida native, Steve was 
fussy about the food he served. His
   wife Judy  and daughter Deana carry
 on Steve's striving for  excellence;
along with managers Debbie Taylor
 and Ila Grimes who have been with
 the Catfish Place for 27 and
  32 years respectively.

Their mission is to provide a
fabulous meal in a warm, family
 setting that is prepared and
cooked the old-fashioned way.

A variety of traditional offerings: tasty steaks, chicken and more are also prepared fresh daily.
Nothing is frozen and all the fish
is hand-breaded. Greens and vegetables (including cabbage from which is made their world-famous cole slaw) is
 home grown.
