Circle Lake is one of only two
natural lakes in the world that
form a perfect circle.  Located
in Florida's panhandle, Circle
Lake is found in the cozy 1880's
railroad town of De Funiak Springs.
A natural spring feeds the lake from
the rich underground depths of
the Florida Aquifer, hence the
town's name.

The lake is approximately one mile in
circumference with shady trees and
grassy knolls that slope down from Circle
Drive. Circle Drive has a number of
historic structures and antebellum homes.
The oldest library, founded in 1887, and
the Train Depot, built in 1882 overlook
the placid, shimmering waters. A historic
walking tour is available.

A sidewalk wraps the shoreline for leisurely
strolls to watch the ducks, or just enjoy the
solitude that is reminiscent of an earlier,
gentler era.
